I had a hot, younger husband and an expanding waistline

I want to tell you a personal story you may relate to.

Seven years ago, I was 11 years into a very happy marriage after two previous disastrous marriages.  I had finally found the godly man I had been wanting all along.

What was surprising was that he was 8 ½ years younger than me AND very attractive or shall I say, Hot.  At least to me.

It was an odd match up, because he had a young son, and my daughter was grown and out of the house.

I was about to turn 50.

We dated for 3 years and then got married and it’s the best thing that I could have wished for.

At that point I was pretty happy with my body.

Maybe you felt this way when you got married.

But as the years went on and I got older, I started gaining weight.

I thought I was a healthy eater, but I was probably eating more sugar and processed food than I realized. I was also eating 6 small meals a day, as the doctors had told me to do with hypoglycemia.

I started to feel less and less positive about my body.

I also started worrying that this cool younger husband that I had married might start to feel turned off by my expanding waistline.

And the more wrinkles I had.

My self-confidence was starting to dwindle.

This may seem shallow, my worrying about being attractive to my husband.

But I bet you have had those times when you felt “less than” because you have gained weight.

My husband never, ever has said anything negative towards me and my body – unlike my former husband who would make snide remarks.

I guess that’s why I was so worried about my weight gain.

Maybe he would start to find younger women more attractive.

I had work to do on my own sense of self-worth and appreciating my body as it was.  It’s a work in progress.

Maybe you are in the same position.

You want to feel good in your body for yourself AND your husband.

One positive step that I took was to see my medical practitioner to find out if there was a medical reason why I was gaining weight.

It turned out I was prediabetic.  I probably had these conditions for quite some time but did not realize it until I had the right tests done.

When I changed my diet to reverse prediabetes and lower my blood sugar, I lost 12 pounds and was no longer prediabetic.

I did this with the help of a couple of coaches, because I needed their encouragement and accountability to stay on track.

They also have coached me around my own lack of self-confidence and my fears around losing my husband to a younger woman.  This part is ongoing.

Maybe you don’t feel good in your body.  You’ve put on weight and you don’t know what to do about it.  You’ve tried to do it on your own and it just hasn’t worked.

Maybe you are prediabetic or maybe you aren’t, but the same methods that I used to lose weight and reverse the prediabetes work for straight up weight loss and improving your health.

The advantage of doing it with a coach is that you are not alone.  You have a partner who can keep you on track and help you physically, mentally and even spiritually.

I’d be honored to talk with you about your challenges around your weight and health.   You can just hit reply to this email and let me know what’s going on.

This could be the next right step to turn things around.

In life and health,

Jane
