Poor Jeremiah! Just a normal guy until the word of the Lord came to him:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart:
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jer.1:4, 8
Despite his protestations that he didn’t know how to speak, the Lord told him he must go where He sent him and say whatever He commanded him to say. However, He assured him,”Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.”
How awesome is that! We are just like Jeremiah – God knew us before we were born and He set us apart for a sacred mission, something very special. What do you think His mission is for you? I’m still figuring that out…
He has known each one of us always. And He has a plan for us, a plan to prosper us and not harm us, to give us a hope and a future.(Jer. 29:11) Just let that sink in. Have you contemplated how close the Lord is to you every minute of every day? He is with you in all your circumstances. I don’t know about you, but that makes me want to cry (in a good way.) Thank you, God!
