Waiting. Just the thought of it makes my impatient self push back. It seems that all during our day we come across situations where we have to wait. We are used to traffic lights, grocery lines, bank tellers, etc. But then there are the times when we are waiting for more serious things: medical results, job appointments, school test results, college acceptances, and my favorite, what God’s plan and purpose is for me. This is when it gets hard, really hard.
In the past month, I have waited for a medical procedure and test results and now I am waiting for certification review results in my new ministry, life and faith coaching. How many times can you check your email in one day? 50? My stepson is waiting for college scholarship news. My husband is waiting for a judge’s determination in a trial. How to wait patiently? Well, I tend to struggle and this doesn’t help at all. Is there another way?
Yes. I can believe the Word of God, Psalm 27:14.
Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:14
He has a plan for me, a plan to prosper me and not harm me, giving me a future and a hope. Jer.29:11 He has the big picture. He holds me in the palm of his hand. So today, I choose to let him have the reins and wait patiently for Him to reveal to me His plan in His time. I can find plenty of other things to do while I am waiting or I can choose to just chill and wait, trusting in His love and compassion for me.
Lord, thank you for being patient with me when I am being impatient with You. I am grateful that you give me the strength to be brave – something I can’t do on my own. I promise to let you drive today and I will sit in the passenger’s seat. You are awesome! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
